The disABLED Warrior, Blog post 1

Welcome to the disABLED Warrior blog.  I was asked to start this and come up with a title.  Well to me the title says it all.  I work with Wounded Warriors through my organization, Lone Star Warriors Outdoors so I run across 60 or more disABLED warriors a year.  The reason I spell it this way is simple.  It does not matter what your injuries are, yes to the world they have labeled you disabled, but I know and I have seen many people over come these obstacles.  A great example is Jose' that we recently took hunting.  He is a triple amputee.  He went from walking around to loosing both legs and his right arm and he was right handed.  He has to learn all over again how to do things.  BUT, he told me that he is the same person and can do most things that he did, it just takes him longer.  You have to admire that attitude.  That is where the ABLED comes into the title, because you may be disabled legally, but that does not stop you from doing what you want to do.  You may not be able to do it the same way as you did, but it can be done.

I will cover stories about our wounded warriors on this blog as time goes by and I look forward to hearing back from anyone with stories, questions or answers.  Thank you all and have a great 2015.
